сокр HMOорганизация медицинского обеспечения (организация поддержки здравоохранения)Медицинская организация, предлагающая своим клиентам как групповое медицинское обслуживание, так и услуги медицинского страхования. Обычно отвечает за оказание таких услуг в строго определенном регионе (районе, штате). Взимает оплату на основе фиксированных регулярных предоплаченных платежей (обычно ежемесячных), не зависящих от количества оказанных пациенту услуг. Такая организация владеет медицинским центром или привлекает к оказанию услуг другие медицинские центры и клиники и независимых врачей, которые вместе с ней делят риски, связанные со стоимостью медицинского обеспечения в случаях, когда фактические расходы на лечение превышают сумму платежей, полученных от пациента. Развитие таких организаций во многом связано с дешевизной услуг, а также с принятием соответствующего законодательства [ HMO Act of 1973]. В 2000 услуги по такой схеме получали около 77% американцев. Крупные организации такого рода должны получать сертификаты соответствия федеральным стандартам [ federally qualified HMO]. Различают: групповые организации медицинского обеспечения [group model HMO] (заключают контракты с различными врачами-специалистами); сетевые организации [network model HMO] (заключают контракты на оказание услуг с несколькими медицинскими центрами); организации, работающие по принципу "обслуживания на месте" [Point of Service plan; open-ended HMO; opt-out HMO; leaky HMO] (выплачивают премии пациентам, использующим услуги врачей, не имеющих контракт с данной организацией); организации с собственным штатом медицинских работников [staff model HMO] (владеют собственными медицинскими учреждениями).English-Russian dictionary of regional studies > health maintenance organization
